Internal Family Systems is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that recognizes the mind as naturally composed of multiple "parts”, each with its own perspective, feelings, and role. IFS helps clients access their core Self (a state of calmness, compassion, and clarity) to heal wounded parts and restore internal harmony. This approach is particularly effective for complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties.
Who it helps: Teens and adults seeking deep, transformative healing from trauma, inner conflict, self-criticism, or feeling emotionally "stuck."
What makes it effective: IFS doesn't pathologize your struggles. Instead, it recognizes that even your most challenging behaviors or emotions are parts trying to protect you. By understanding and healing these parts with compassion, lasting change becomes possible. Clients often describe IFS as the therapy that finally helped them understand themselves.

EMDR is an evidence-based psychotherapy recognized by the American Psychological Association and the World Health Organization as highly effective for treating trauma and PTSD. Through bilateral stimulation (typically guided eye movements), EMDR helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories, reducing their emotional intensity and allowing clients to recall events without being overwhelmed by distress.
Who it helps: Teens and adults experiencing PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, or distressing memories that continue to affect daily life.
What makes it effective: Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR doesn't require you to describe traumatic events in detail. The brain's natural healing process is activated through bilateral stimulation, allowing memories to be stored adaptively rather than remaining "stuck" in a state of distress. Many clients experience significant relief in fewer sessions than conventional therapy.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is an evidence-based approach that combines mindfulness strategies with behavior change techniques. Rather than attempting to eliminate difficult thoughts and feelings, ACT teaches psychological flexibility (the ability to be present with discomfort while taking action aligned with your values). This approach is particularly effective for anxiety, depression, chronic stress, and life transitions.
Who it helps: Teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, chronic worry, or feeling disconnected from what matters most in life.
What makes it effective: ACT doesn't promise to make pain disappear. It teaches you to change your relationship with pain so it no longer controls your choices. You'll learn to notice thoughts without being ruled by them, make room for difficult emotions, and build a life guided by your values rather than your fears. The result is greater resilience, meaning, and vitality.

Play therapy is the evidence-based use of play as a therapeutic medium to help children process emotions. and experiences, lean into a greater sense of self, and develop healthier behaviors. Because young children often lack the verbal and cognitive capacity to articulate complex feelings, play becomes their natural language. Through toys, games, art, and imaginative play, children work through trauma, anxiety, grief, behavioral challenges, and developmental struggles of a variety of sorts in a safe, supportive environment.
Who it helps: Children ages 3 to 12, particularly those who struggle to verbalize feelings, have experienced trauma or loss, exhibit behavioral challenges, or are navigating family transitions.
Approaches used:
• Child-Centered Play Therapy: Following the child's lead to build trust and self-expression
• Theraplay: Relationship-based play to strengthen attachment and emotional regulation
• Adlerian Play Therapy: Addressing belonging, significance, and social interconnectedness
• Sandtray Therapy: Using miniature figures to create scenes that represent inner experiences
What makes it effective: Play therapy meets children exactly where they are developmentally. Rather than forcing verbal processing before they're ready, we allow healing to happen through their natural mode of communication. Parents often see changes in behavior, emotional regulation, and confidence as children process experiences they couldn't put into words.

We Build Trust Together
Every person heals differently. Whether you're 3 or 85, you and I will tailor our approach to fit your developmental stage and comfort level. Therapy should be made to fit and accommodate you.
