“The journey of healing mind and soul needn’t be done alone”

Healing is possible

Why I Became a Therapist

I didn't choose to become a therapist from simply learning it in a textbook. I chose it because of the my combined experiences.

Growing up, I was labeled an at-risk youth. I carried struggles that no one seemed to know how to help me with, until I found the right modality and therapist for myself. That journey changed everything. I worked through my experiences, and along the way, I met those who showed me what healing could look like and a few who showed me what therapy shouldn’t be.

Both shaped who I am today.

I became a therapist because I know what it feels like to sit in that chair, wondering if the person across from you truly sees you. My promise is simple: I will. I see you, and I'm here to walk alongside you.

My Background

I hold a Master of Social Work from Fordham University in New York and a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy from Capella University. I'm currently pursuing my PhD in Developmental Psychology at Walden University because I believe understanding how people grow across their entire lifespan makes me a better therapist at every stage.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in both Utah and Arizona, and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT); a credential that reflects my deep commitment to working with children and families.

Over the past 7+ years in mental health, my path has taken me through:

  • Intermountain Health — working within their Mental Health Integration program

  • Nursing home social services — directing psychosocial and behavioral health care, including a dementia care unit

  • Community mental health — providing therapy to individuals and families across diverse settings

Each role taught me something different. Together, they gave me a perspective that very few therapists in rural Utah can offer

My Approach

I believe therapy works best when it feels human — not clinical.

You won't find me hiding behind jargon or keeping you at arm's length. I bring my full self to our work together. My training, my experience, and my genuine investment in your growth. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of healing, and I take that seriously.

I specialize in evidence-based trauma therapies including therapies such as:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) — understanding and healing the different parts of yourself

  • EMDR — reprocessing traumatic memories so they lose their grip

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) — building a life aligned with your values, even through pain

I also bring specialized training in play therapy (Child-Centered, Theraplay, and Adlerian), TF-CBTDBT, the Unified Protocol, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Sandtray Therapy, which means I can meet you or your child exactly where you are.

I work with people of all ages, from 3 to 85+ because trauma and healing don't have an age limit.

Beyond the Office

When I'm not in session, I'm an experienced athletic coach and someone who works hard to live what I teach; balance, presence, and connection. I love my family, I prioritize being present with them, and I believe that a therapist who takes care of their own well-being is a better therapist for you.
